The Role: Supply Analyst Senior - Gas


Purpose
Working in a team environment the Senior Analyst will assist with portfolio management and pricing activities for the C&I Gas Portfolio.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist with or responsible for portfolio management activities including, but not limited to: short term gas position optimization, gas scheduling/nominations (will require, from time to time, 24-hour on-call availability, including weekends and holidays), long term gas position optimization, evaluation of portfolio risk and hedge strategies, and communication with internal and external counterparties.
  • Assist with or responsible for pricing activities including, but not limited to: maintenance of costing models and assumptions, maintenance of customer load profiles, maintenance of pricing processes and systems, evaluation of customer risks, product structuring and development, evaluation customer price strategy and volume risks, and communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and validations including, but not limited to: trade entry accuracy, risk policy compliance, position tracking, hedge mark to market (MTM), and, in conjunction with other internal and external teams: forecast and actualized portfolio gross margin and load forecast accuracy.
  • Assist with the research and analysis of subjects including, but not limited to: historical market prices, ISO/RTO costs, LDC/pipeline costs, market fundamentals, customer load, customer churn, load or financial forecast variances, and initiatives such distributed generation and load response.
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions activities including, but not limited to: due diligence reviews, transaction structuring, contract negotiation, business integration, and post hoc review.
  • Act as a team member with all ENGIE staff.
  • Comply with all ENGIE policies and procedures.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned. 


Requirements

  • For this position, you must have evidence of right to work in the U.S. There is no employer sponsorship of U.S. residency or work authorization with this role.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required.
  • Proficiency with MS Access, PowerPivot, Power BI, DAX, VB or VBA, and MS or Oracle SQL is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of pipeline and/or LDC EBBs is a preferred.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Ventyx nMarket, or Sungard Aligne is a plus.



Essential Physical Abilities

  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
  • Could involve some lifting.




Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required – Majors in Business, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics or Computer Science are preferred.
  • MBA degree is preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of power/energy experience such as scheduling, trading, portfolio management, generation/asset optimization, and/or settlements.
  • Retail energy or gas, experience highly preferred; mass market experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of natural gas markets, products, derivatives, and options preferred.
  • Knowledge of gas market fundamentals a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISO website portals and communication protocols is a plus.
