The Role: Site Manager



Purpose
The Site Manager is responsible for providing on-site management of the construction and commissioning of a utility scale Solar Park and Substation, located near Lamesa Texas.  The Site Manager will provide training, mentoring and leadership over the site management team of 6 to 9 persons including Safety, Logistics, Quality Control, and Commissioning.  The construction work will be performed by Subcontractors.  The Safety Manager and the Logistics Manager will report to the Site Manager.

Essential Job Functions
  • Manage the Site Management Team including safety, quality and logistics.
  • Coordinate and Manage the Subcontractors performing the Construction and Commissioning.
  • Conduct Weekly On-site Coordination and Scheduling Meetings.
  • Prepare Daily and Weekly Reports for Progress, Safety and Quality.
  • Prepare 3-week Look Ahead Schedules.
  • Provide management oversight of the testing, commissioning and interconnection of the plant.
  • Build, Foster, and Maintain a collaborative working environment between the Subcontractors and the Site Management Team.
  • Provide Training and Mentoring.


Requirements

  • Strong background with electrical work and safety preferred.
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Construction Processes and Sequencing.
  • Hands on Experience with Tools and Equipment.
  • Leadership and Problem-Solving skills.
  • Takes a collaborative approach to getting the work done.
  • Physical ability to conduct regular site walks.



Essential Physical Abilities

  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
  • Could involve some lifting.



Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ total experience with 3 to 5 years of Site Management experience constructing solar projects preferred.  Experience with managing projects larger than 100MW preferred.
